Annotation #1

Objective #1: Assist in the development and evaluation of organization’s activities. 

Activities/Resources:

• Assemble evaluations and summaries of activities.
• Coordinate with staff to improve the training of corps members.

Evidence:

• Include proof of any compilations of data in my portfolio.

As the end of the quarter neared, I was asked to compile training evaluations that were completed by City Year corps members. These evaluations assessed the members’ opinions of six of City Year’s provided training activities. These activities are conducted to give corps members the tools and knowledge that they need to complement their projects in the schools. In addition to organizing this information, I had the task of inputting the evaluations into Microsoft Excel, and summarizing them using a provided template. 

I began with hard copies of training evaluations and 2 templates to work with. One template was in Microsoft Excel, and one was company-based in Microsoft Word. I input these values and comments into the supplied template and organized each training session into it’s own excel sheet. Responses and comments were programmed in formula boxes to compute percentages, which allow the company to assess the value of each training session. After inputting the information into Excel, I used my own judgement to enter the most relevant obtained information into a Quarterly Summary.
